Top 5 Summer "Foundations"

Hello beauties,

While summer is my favorite season it's not always nice to my makeup! If I spend anytime outside in June, July, or August here in Chicago I'm going to sweat and I need a foundation that is still going to look great on my skin when I do start to sweat a little! In the summer I gravitate toward a specific type of foundation. I want something light weight, maybe a little SPF, and something long wearing. Of course I still want a little coverage, I mean what's the point of wearing a foundation/bb cream/cc cream/etc. if it has no coverage at all? Yes I'm looking for a little coverage but I don't want to look like I'm wearing a lot of makeup in the summer sun. For one it will probably melt off and for two it doesn't doesn't look good in natural sunlight. Here are five foundations that I know I can go to in the summer!

I have dry combo skin.

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream is an old favorite of mine. It's extremely little weight with a little coverage, SPF 30, and it doesn't look cakey or powdery in the sun. This is a quick and easy product that can be applied with your fingers after moisturizer.

Skin 79 Super BB is amazing. It's a BB cream that adjust to your skin tone and can easily be applied with fingers. I don't normally apply any foundation with my fingers but this one and the Maybelline BB cream seem to work best with the warmth of your hands. I like this BB Cream because it has SPF 30, it's light weight, has great coverage for a BB cream, and lasts all day!

A newer favorite of mine is the It Cosmetics CC+ Cream. This CC Cream has great sun perfection with an SPF of 50. I find this product works best if you use a SMALL amount. I mean a little goes a long way with this CC Cream. The small dot you see in the photo below can cover my entire face and more. When too much of this product is applied it does feel extremely thick and cakey. I'm in the shade Fair which works really well from my pale complexion. This CC Cream has a great wear time and descent coverage.

Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Foundation is not only a favorite of mine for the summer but a favorite for all year. It had SPF 15, it's light on the skin, and wears all day! It's a water based foundation that needs to be shaken well before use and sinks into the skin beautifully. I'm in the shade BR10

Dior Airflash and Sephora Airbrush foundation are extremely similar. The Dior Airflash has great coverage in one coat where the Sephora Airbrush does need to be layered for more coverage. They are both light on the skin, look flawless, last all day, and make the skin look AMAZING. Neither of these have an SPF but they wear so well and look incredible on the skin I couldn't not mention them. I'm in the shade 100 in the Dior and Fair in the Sephora.

Let me know in the comments what your go to summer "foundation" is :) Thank you for checking out my blog! Have a beautiful day!
