Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette

The Urban Decay NAKED palettes are close to my heart. Around the time I started my obsession/makeup collecting is when the Urban Decay NAKED original palette was released. I've picked up each of the NAKED palettes right at their release ever since!
As a pale gal The NAKED 3 is my personal favorite. The rose tones work really well for fair skin and I love some shine in my life. This NAKED Smoky favorite has become a close second for me! I love that this palette is exactly what it claims to be - it is a Naked Smoky palette! It's got wonderful shades that can be used for day and night, for natural looks and smoky looks.
The packaging on this palette is my favorite. I was a big fan of the NAKED original packaging and this palette has a similar design, but has improvements. The mirror is a great size and the palette can be opened to about 180 degrees and has a magnetic closure.

I absolutely love that Urban Decay added three different formula eyeshadows in this palette. There are four matte shades, four satin shades, and four shimmery eyeshadows. The matte shades are wonderful, pigmented, and easy to use. I find Password and Whiskey end up looking similar when smoked out. The four satin eyeshadows are pretty good. For as pale as I am, I find Dagger, Black Market, and Smolder all end up looking like the same shade smoked out, but if you use a color base that matches the eyeshadow shade the color pigmentation would shade out more. As for the four shimmery shades, I find these work best with a mixing medium, MAC Fix+ is my personal favorite. How I use Fix+ is I add the shadow to a dense brush, spray the brush, then apply the shadow to the lid.
There are so many gorgeous tutorials out there that show how amazing this palette is for creating smoky looks. Today I wanted to show you a look that is more wearable for everyday to demonstrate this palette can be used for day time looks!
For this look I started with a pink shimmery eyeshadow base, then took Combust into the crease as my transition shade. Next I smoked out the outer corner just a little with Password and Whiskey. I took the shade Radar and smudged this on the lower lash line and out portion of the upper lid, also brought this shade into the crease. For the lid I used High mixed with MAC Fix+ and Dirtysweet right on the center of the lid.
