ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Color Review

Hello beauties,

A little while ago ColourPop released a new formula of lip product, their Ultra Matte Lip. I was unable to pick up any during their first release because they sold out so quickly. When they announced their second release I jumped on their site right away. I picked up 12 of the shades; I wanted to get a great range to review for you guys.

The shade range for these lip colors is amazing. ColourPop has wonderful products at a price that cannot be beat. If the name doesn't give it away I don't know what would, these Ultra Matte Lip products are extremely matte.

They are so matte that they can be a little drying. These work best with exfoliated moisturized lips! Each one I have tried has amazing color payoff. The lip colors are opaque, smooth, not patchy, and can be applied right out of the tube. I have noticed that these do transfer to the teeth extremely easily. I recommend making sure the inner part of the lips are clear of the product to insure your teeth stay free of color.

As far as staying power goes the darker shades do stain the lips a bit more than the lighter shades but they all do stain the lips pretty well. They also have a good staying power, they can with stand moderates amount of eating and drinking.

Right to left: 1st base, Highball, Ouiji, Drive-In, Midi, Pacific, Sundae, Bumble, Creeper, Mars, LAX, and Creeper

The photos above do show the colors as having a little gloss look to them but that is because the photos were taken so quickly after application. After setting these lip colors do have an extreme matte finish. I think these shades are gorgeous! The product formula and application is great for an extreme matte lip color. Are they for everyone? Probably not. They do take a little work in terms of lip maintenance before application and you are going to for sure what to carry the darker shades for reapplication.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. Let me know in the comments which shade is your favorite :)
